In 2012, Meeting Street ran the polls that helped to steer an improbable win for state senator (now U.S. senator) Deb Fischer against two statewide elected officials in the Republican Primary. She went on to defeat a former governor, U.S. senator, and even presidential candidate Bob Kerrey as she became the only Republican pick-up U.S. Senate seat that cycle.

The Washington Post called Fischer’s win, “a testament to the fact that politics is still about campaigns and that money isn’t the be-all, end-all.”
